The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not happy about this…
Willian, whilst not currently a regular starter for Chelsea, is undoubtedly one of the Blues’ most important players – a notion that was made concrete by his signing of a new four-year deal over the summer.
A formation switch by Antonio Conte, combined with a short spell away from the Chelsea side, have forced him out of the Chelsea first team, though, and that has left cause for concern amongst the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern.
He is, of course, a player that deserves regular minutes, and if he is not getting them at Chelsea, he could look to move on – and it would appear that an old boss is well aware of that fact…
According to the Daily Star, Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho is keen on the Brazilian midfielder and could launch an audacious move for him in January.
Mourinho, of course, utilised Willian during his spell back in the English capital – and he was one of the few players to really impress under the Portuguese boss.
With Man Utd struggling for offensive form, a move for Willian would certainly make sense – and the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are definitely supportive of it.
The Chelsea fans in the Tavern are decidedly less interested, however, and have pleaded that the Blues need to hold on to the Brazilian.
It is true that Willian is currently out of the Chelsea first team – but you would not expect that to last for very long. A hard-working right winger – Willian would suit the 3-4-3 formation perfectly – and it is surely only a matter of time before he finds himself back in the first team.
Our landlord doesn’t think that this deal is very likely.
