Man Utd would be far closer to the title if they target 1 of these 2 stars instead of Bale

Man Utd are reportedly on the hunt for a major signing, and according to the Manchester Evening News, Gareth Bale is the man that they want. Talks are, apparently, at an advanced stage, and that suggests that a deal could be forthcoming.

Of course, Bale is one of Europe’s best-known players. He’s Wales’ star man, and even though his time in Spain hasn’t been problem-free, the 28-year-old has more than held his own amongst some of the best players in the world.

However, despite his obvious quality, a move for Bale should not be without concern. The Welshman’s injury record speaks for itself, whilst his age is also a problem. Not to mention, who knows whether he’d be able to adapt back to life in La Liga.

Perhaps, then, it would make sense for Man Utd to instead seek an alternative option. They’re clearly on the hunt for the Premier League title, and a new, talented attacker could help them get there. However, perhaps Bale isn’t the man they need.

Instead, 1 of these 2 stars may be a better choice…

Florian Thauvin is perhaps best known in England for his time at Newcastle, but it’s fair to say that he’s a very different player now to who he was then.

Last season was a remarkable campaign for him, and with 22 goals and 11 assists in Ligue 1, it’s easy to see why.

He typically plays on the right, just like Bale, and he’s fantastic at driving forwards and creating mayhem in the attack.

At 25-years-old, he’d also be a much option with the future in mind, which is important.

Willian perhaps wouldn’t be the most popular player with fans, but Utd would struggle to find a better choice.

He’s been, on his day, one of the Premier League’s best over the last few years, and his ability from set-pieces is simply astounding.

Significantly, he’s proven under Jose Mourinho from the manager’s days at Chelsea, and so he’d require little adjustment if he were to move. Furthermore, naturally, he’s proven in the English top flight, and fans will know that he can do the business in the league.

If they’re looking for experience, as they clearly would be with Bale, then Willian would be a great alternative.
