Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are excited after the Mirror said that Manuel Pellegrini is eyeing a transfer for Swansea’s Wilfried Bony for £25m.
The Sky Blues have suffered upfront due to a string of injuries and their boss his hoping to land the Swans star to strengthen his options.
City are showing their determination to bring him to the Etihad with their size of the quoted fee, with this approach being £4m more than release clause which is in his new contract.
Pellegrini is desperate to bring in another striker after being forced to play with either the inexperienced José Ángel Pozo or he has had to play without any recognised strikers at all, with Sergio Aguero, Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko all suffering with injury.
Bony has been on fine form this season for Gary Monk’s side and this has led to huge speculation with Real Madrid and Chelsea also being interested.
