Erling Haaland has lit up Europe so far this campaign, turning the heads of top European scouts due to his exploits for Red Bull Salzburg, and now a report from Bild via FourFourTwo has loads of Manchester City fans rubbing their hands together at the prospect of activating his cheap release clause.
According to the piece, City could potentially snap up the Norwegian wonderkid for a cheap fee of €20m (£16.8m) following the revelation that Haaland has a release clause in his contract.
The 19-year-old, son of former Sky Blues player Alf-Inge, has burst onto the scene this campaign with a phenomenal goalscoring record – bagging 27 goals in 20 appearances this season with eight of them coming in the Champions League.
As a result, supporters are ecstatic that they could potentially secure his signature for a relatively bargain fee – with Pep Guardiola’s men potentially needing to plan for the future as Sergio Aguero reaches the latter stages of his career.
