Speaking to Wolves’ official website, winger Adama Traore sat down with the club’s media to answer a one-to-one questionnaire – going on to claim that City star Raheem Sterling plays like him when asked about playing styles.
Traore, who has started 22 Premier League games for Wolves this season, had a brilliant outing in the 3-2 win against City back in December 2019 – scoring the first goal as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side mounted an impressive comeback. Now, speaking to Wolves’ official site, Traore has stated that winger Sterling has a similar playing style to him but not the other way around – with many Sky Blues supporters slamming the comments in response.
According to WhoScored, even though Traore holds the far superior dribble rate on average in the league (5.2), Sterling does amass more shots per game (3). However, City supporters do not like the comparison, branding the Wolves star a ‘pace merchant‘ with ‘no end product‘.

I can only recall 2 games where he actually played well. Both were against city. No end product whatsoever. pace merchant
