Manchester City: Many fans confused by Raheem Sterling’s sudden dip in form

Manchester City cruised to victory against 10-man Fulham on Sunday and Pep Guardiola used the game to give some of his key players a break from the starting line-up. Indeed, this meant Raheem Sterling was left on the bench before coming on in the 52nd minute, but City fans weren’t pleased with what they saw.

He had a blistering start to the season and that’s largely proved by the fact he’s still the club’s second top goalscorer on 11 despite having not scored or assisted in any of his past six matches. Before that, he was on a run of five goals in four games in all competitions, so his performances seem to have dropped off a cliff edge of late it seems.

Furthermore, WhoScored haven’t rated him over 7/10 in any of those most recent six games despite him only falling below that rating once in the nine games before it. With that in mind, many City fans took to Twitter to say how they’ve noticed the dip, and they showed their concern for his form.
