Manchester City: Fans ecstatic to see Rodri back in training

After being forced off in Manchester City’s 5-1 dismantling of Atalanta shortly before half time, fans are ecstatic to see Rodri back in training ahead of a tough week.

The Spaniard was one of City’s stand out players at the start of the season, slotting into midfield and providing comfort on the ball, already boasting a passing accuracy of 91.9% according to WhoScored.

Rodri, who had previously started all league games prior to the knock, signed from Atletico Madrid in the summer for a club record £62.8 million – with many predicting that he will inevitably become Fernandinho’s long term successor in the holding role.

With a nervy week on the horizon ahead of a looming trip to league leaders Liverpool, City supporters can take comfort in the fact he was spotted in training, though he still isn’t fit enough to train fully with the rest of the squad.

Here’s how fans reacted to the brilliant news that Rodri will be back sooner than expected.

Rest him for Liverpool match!
