Manchester City: Fans fume at John Stones for Raheem Sterling party antics

After succumbing to a derby day loss at the hands of bitter rivals Manchester United on Saturday, a match where City still looked nowhere near their defensive best, the players went out and celebrated Raheem Sterling’s birthday with a Great Gatsby-themed party – though John Stones’ antics angered a handful of supporters.

Manchester City take on Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday evening having already qualified for the knockout stage as group winners, with a few youngsters likely to cameo in the encounter.

Before that, though, Sterling and his City teammates celebrated the winger’s birthday in style in a season where he looks well-positioned to top his best goalscoring season for the club.

Despite this, a few fans took aim at John Stones following a clip of the party which surfaced online.

The defender appeared to be having a little bit too much fun, and plenty of fans think he could soon feel the wrath of Pep Guardiola.

I’m all for the lads living their lives, but when Stones sloped off the pitch on Saturday looking like he was after an early pint after a game of Sunday League, I didn’t think I could lose any more respect for him. I was wrong. Stealing a living from City this lad.
