After Manchester City ran riot away to Arsenal on Sunday, sealing a comfortable 3-0 win and securing their first Premier League clean sheet since late October, supporters have praised defender Aymeric Laporte’s message on Twitter hailing one man.
Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne put on arguably his performance of the season so far, netting two sublime finishes and assisting Raheem Sterling in a first-half showing that stunned spectators.
The Belgian smashed the ball into the roof of the net inside the first two minutes before setting up Raheem Sterling on the counter-attack for a tap-in to make it 2-0. Shortly after, he scored the third with a thunderous strike into the bottom corner from outside the area.
De Bruyne’s masterclass has had pundits purring since the full-time whistle, but Laporte’s tweet surrounding the former Wolfsburg man has also drawn praise, simply stating on Twitter: “Ohhh Kevin de Bruyne …..”.
