Reacting to footage courtesy of Manchester City’s official club account, many Sky Blues supporters have been in nostalgia over former prodigy Kelechi Iheanacho’s last-minute heroics against Crystal Palace back in 2015 – with one fan even asking if the club can ‘exercise our buy-back option’.
Iheanacho, who played his way up through the Sky Blues academy, excelling for the Elite Development Squad before making his first-team debut, announced himself to City supporters in style four and a half years ago – prodding home a rebound two yards from goal to gift Manuel Pellegrini’s side a last-gasp winner at Selhurst Park.
From then on, the Nigerian youngster racked up 21 goals and eight assists in 64 appearances for the club before moving on to Leicester City in August 2017 (Transfermarkt). However, despite his move away, plenty of City fans have fond memories of their former youngster – including his last winner at Palace.

I miss Kelechi. When are we going to exercise our buy back option?

I think Iheanacho will stay in Man City to this day if Pellegrini is still a manager! pic.twitter.com/HBmd4yUjZo
