Plenty of Manchester City fans took the chance to hail “unstoppable” winger Bernardo Silva as he reflected on the club’s enormous success in 2018/19.
Their FA Cup final thrashing of Watford a year ago yesterday sealed a fourth domestic trophy of the campaign, adding to the Community Shield, Carabao Cup and Premier League, and the Portugal forward basked in that success via his Twitter profile @BernardoCSilva.

The 25-year-old was voted the club’s Player of the Season for that extraordinary campaign and he was also included in the PFA Team of the Year and shortlisted for the 2019 Ballon D’Or. He ended the 2018/19 season with 13 goals and 14 assists in all competitions.
Among Bernardo’s standout contributions last term were two assists in the FA Cup final against Watford, the opening goal in the 2-0 win away to Manchester United in the Premier League title run-in and three goal involvements (one goal, two assists) in a 7-0 Champions League drubbing of Schalke 04. His successful season didn’t end there as he was named Player of the Tournament in Portugal’s UEFA Nations League triumph in early June.
