Plagued since the start of the season with injury problems, including knocks to key stars Aymeric Laporte, Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero, supporters have been crying out for the club to take action – and this rumour concerning a potential defensive swoop has them excited for January.

According to news from Bleacher Report via Man City Xtra, the Sky Blues could be in the hunt for centre-back duo Kalidou Koulibaly and Nathan Ake as they prepare to bolster their back line over ‘the next two windows’.

City have been linked with Koulibaly since the summer, with supporters appearing particularly enthusiastic on the defender despite his reportedly hefty price tag.

A lengthy injury absence to star defender Laporte has prompted the fan base to enquire about new potential defensive signings given their lacklustre Premier League campaign so far, and supporters appear to be excited over these rumoured targets.
