Pep Guardiola’s side travelled to Anfield on Sunday with the hope of picking up a decent result and halting the Reds’ momentum as both teams gear up for another long-winded and dramatic race to the Premier League crown.

However, after early goals from Fabinho and Mohamed Salah gave the home side a comfortable advantage, it was a huge uphill battle for City to claw their way back into proceedings.

Despite playing some brilliant passing football at times, looking comfortable controlling the midfield, the blues couldn’t make any of that pressure count, with Sadio Mane all but sealing the three points for Liverpool shortly after half time.

City did manage to get a goal back through a brilliant finish from Bernardo Silva, but it was too little too late as they travelled back to Manchester empty-handed.

Silva, talking in a post-match interview, did manage to make a few blues supporters following his hilarious post-match comments.

When asked if he would talk about the incident leading to the first goal, he did his best Jose Mourinho impression and replied with ‘I don’t want to speak’.

As a result, City fans have praised the midfielder for his funny antics in an otherwise gloomy afternoon:
