The lights were shining on a glistening Manchester City performance mid-week in the Champions League, demolishing Atalanta 5-1 at the Etihad, but it wasn’t all good news.

Pep Guardiola’s men came back from 1-0 down to complete a demolition job at the Etihad, with England sensation Raheem Sterling scoring a hat-trick to round off a Man of the Match performance.
Sergio Aguero also grabbed a brace to put the Citizens in front after trailing mid-way through the second half, with the Premier League champions all but securing their place in the knockout rounds.
However, it wasn’t all good news, with influential new signing Rodrigo appearing to injure his hamstring – almost immediately having to come off for John Stones – making it clear there was no way he could continue.
The Spanish midfielder signed from Atletico Madrid in the summer to the tune of £62.8 million – so far proving he was worth the heavy investment with a string of good performances in place of Fernandinho in midfield.
Now, it looks like the 23-year-old, who has compiled a 91.9% pass success rate since joining the Sky Blues (via WhoScored), could be out for the rest of the month at least.
Guardiola shed light on this information in a post-match press conference, stating Rodrigo could be out for ten days if his hamstring isn’t broken, but if it is, the midfielder will be out for at least three weeks.
Taking to Twitter, fans reacted heavily to the news:
I prayed he recovers soon because he is doing good job in the midfield 🔥
