Manchester City: Fans slam £720 ticket in partnership with Harvey Nichols

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Manchester City have launched a £720 ‘Harvey Nichols ticket’ which allows supporters paying top dollar to try on the latest fashion accessories from the ultra-posh chain whilst attending the Etihad Stadium – with many Sky Blues fans taking issue over the club’s latest gimmick.

Pep Guardiola’s side beat high-flying Leicester 3-1 on Saturday evening courtesy of goals from Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Ilkay Gundogan despite originally going behind when Jamie Vardy gave the visitors an early lead.

One moment that has been cherry-picked from the encounter is manager Guardiola’s pleas to the crowd to ramp up an atmosphere and spur the team on, happening briefly after City equalised.

The Spaniard waved his arms around in communication to the home supporters who eventually obliged in increasing the volume – but this new £720 ticket initiative from the club is unlikely to help with that aspect of the matchday experience.

Here’s how fans blasted the move on Twitter.
