Manchester City fans take to Twitter to tear into Delph

Usually, when Manchester City take to the pitch their fans have very little to complain about. However, against Watford yesterday the fans were left fuming as they faced a nervy finish when Fabian Delph’s error led to a cheap goal for Abdoulaye Doucoure. Pep Guardiola was able to coach his side through the final minutes, but the fans were fuming at Delph for his error.

The Sky Blues are in a position at the moment where even winning by a one-goal margin is met with disdain. The supporters have come to expect nothing but perfection and when they have the likes of Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez on top form as they were tonight then more often than not the fans are left entertained and satisfied with their football and their results.

The game against the Hornets won’t be remembered as anything special come to the end of the season, but it’s just another three points for Guardiola’s side as they continue to pick up points at an alarming rate. In Pep Guardiola’s last 60 league games in England, he’s won 163 points out of an available 192, and if he had a competent left-back who could stay fit, unlike the ever-injured Benjamin Mendy and the error-prone Delph, then that tally would likely be even higher.
