According to a report from AreaNapoli.it via Sports Witness, as tweeted by Man City Superbia, Manchester City could be front-runners along with Tottenham to sign star defender Kalidou Koulibaly for €120m (£101m) as soon as January.
The Senegalese centre-back has reportedly told the club he wants to leave, but it would only be for the price of £101m with Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis setting a firm cost in order to profit off top clubs begging for his signature.

City, in particular, are in dire need of defensive reinforcement following a disjointed campaign so far – picking up four losses in the league already this season and barely showing the form which won them a first ever domestic treble in 2018/2019.
Koulibaly, among other options, has been seen as a potential solution to their centre-back woes – with Aymeric Laporte sidelined until after the New Year.
As a result, supporters have encouraged the move on Twitter – here is what they had to say.
I would pay anything to get him tbh. We need him or soyuncu imo

Money doesn’t matter really. Nobody for any value can offer what Koulibaly will provide in the backline. Koulibaly can easily shore the defense for next 5 years which provide ample time for THB & Garcia to develop. Koulibaly is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

In this day and age, you can easy get a CB to 35 as a squad player.. 100m over 7 years is a no brainer for this lad.
