After dropping more points away to Newcastle United at the weekend, conceding two stunning equalisers in each half, Manchester City supporters are now more than ever crying out for a centre-back addition which can confidently sure up their back line ahead of an uphill title challenge.

League leaders Liverpool took a monumental 11 point lead after edging past Brighton at Anfield, with both of their goals coming from star defender Virgil Van Dijk, forcing City supporters to wish they had the same defensive strength.
After club legend Vincent Kompany left for Anderlecht in the summer, and with Aymeric Laporte not returning until after the New Year, supporters have been crying out for an addition to their weak backline – particularly at centre-half.
Fernandinho and John Stones have been chosen as the two anchors at the heart of City’s defence during their last few games, with the Sky Blues failing to keep a clean sheet since late October.
However, given names like Kalidou Koulibaly occasionally popping up, supporters were unimpressed after being linked with in-form Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu, as per the Times via City Xtra.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Exactly my thought tbh. We better go for koulibaly
