According to a report from Italian outlet Il Mattino via Sport Witness, Manchester City are currently in a two-horse race with Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of Napoli stalwart Kalidou Koulibaly – with the defender costing an estimated £89.2 million.
Koulibaly, who has started 14 games for Napoli this season, is currently linked with a move away from the Naples club – resulting in this report claiming that both City and PSG remain interested. Whilst both clubs haven’t yet lodged a ‘formalised‘ bid for the player, the piece claims Napoli do have the offers for Koulibaly in hand, with City supporters since coming out to slam the news that they could land the Senegalese international.
The centre-back, compared to the Sky Blues’ current defensive favourite Nicolas Otamendi, has amassed a superior average of tackles (2.6) and interceptions (1.1) per game, as per WhoScored.com – but supporters are still against signing the 28-year-old due to his lofty price tag.

One supporter even claimed that he would ‘rather have Skriniar‘ – referring to the Inter Milan defender. Find all of their best comments down below.
I’ll rather have skriniar or ruben Diaz because this guys is expensive and 29 years old

Let PSG have him.

Kalidou Koulibaly is not the sort of CB @ManCity need and to pay €100m for Napoli will be a huge loss and a bad deal.

100m for a 29 year old. Napoli love to play hardball.
