Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are unsure on what the future holds after the Mail on Sunday revealed that James Milner had put his contract talks on hold until the summer.
The England international is out of contract at the end of the season and the power is in his hands as the Citizens want him to stay on as he is a great player, and he also helps out with the squad registration.
There are several clubs in contention to offer Milner a new deal should he opt to leave the Etihad but Milner is keen on getting the season out of the way and taking his time to think about his future before making a decision.
Arsenal and Everton are considered as front runners alongside Liverpool as Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring him in to help fill void of Steven Gerrard as he jets off to New York.
The 29-year-old may choose to leave City as they are set to shake up the squad and but whilst Milner is in a flexible position, it will not be easy to offload some players who considered as deadwood, because they are on much longer contracts.
