Manchester City fans were far from happy as Cole Palmer missed a penalty during their pre-season friendly with Barnsley on Saturday.

The Citizens' pre-season campaign is well underway as they prepare for the 2021/22 season. The Citizens have played two warm-up matches so far - they beat Preston North End 2-0 before hammering Barnsley 4-0 as a number of the club's younger players impressed to give Pep Guardiola something to think about.

However, it was not all plain sailing for the Citizens in the second match. Against the Tykes, Palmer missed a penalty, which continued City's poor record from the spot - last term, the Premier League champions scored just seven from their 11 spot-kicks (Transfermarkt), far from an impressive record. Guardiola which surely be looking for improvement in that department.

Twitter account @City_Xtra tweeted about the missed penalty, and it attracted plenty of attention from the supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
