According to a report by Daily Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath, via City Xtra, Sheikh Mansour remains ‘totally committed’ to Manchester City despite the club being part of the failed European Super League – with Sky Blues praising this news in response.
The ESL caused shockwaves throughout football when the Premier League’s ‘big six’ decided to put their names on the closed tournament as founding members, a list of teams which included City alongside Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs.
However, after intense backlash and protests from supporters, the Sky Blues were the first side to officially announce they would be leaving the project.
Now, providing an update, McGrath has said that Mansour remains ‘totally committed’ to the club and he will not walk away after 12 years of investment.
Given all Mansour and CFG have done for the club since their takeover in 2008, helping to develop City both on and off the pitch, it’s little wonder one fan called this development ‘perfect’.
