Manchester City: Potential new Sterling deal has divided loads of supporters

According to a report from Sky Sports via City Chief, Raheem Sterling could be on the verge of signing a huge new contract following ‘positive’ initial discussions with his agent – but some supporters are slightly divided over the figures.

Sterling, who was a key part of City’s historic domestic treble-winning side of last season, scoring 17 goals and assisting 10 others in the league as well as bagging the winning penalty in a Carabao Cup final shoot-out against Chelsea, could be handed a much better contract that would take him above Kevin De Bruyne in earnings.

Reportedly, the Englishman could sign a deal that would elevate his current £275,000 per week wage beyond De Bruyne’s £350,000 per week deal – prompting some supporters to ask questions.

There’s no denying Sterling’s crucial impact over the last two seasons, showing immense progress under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad and seemingly catapulting into a world-class forward.

Here’s how the fans reacted with mixed opinions over his alleged new deal.
