Manchester City: Edin Dzeko to Man United rumours baffle supporters

Edin Dzeko was one of the key figures during Manchester City’s transition from a small club to one that wins trophies, with ‘the Bosnian diamond’ having his fair share of key moments at Eastlands and writing himself into City folklore.

This included scoring a crucial equaliser against QPR on the final day of the 2011/12 Premier League season, setting the stage for Sergio Aguero to score one of the most famous goals in English football history.

Since moving on from Manchester in 2015 to AS Roma, Dzeko has continued his fine goalscoring form on the continent – bagging 93 goals in 194 appearances for the Italians in all competitions, as per Transfermarkt.

The 33-year-old is never shy of finding the net, no matter what league he is in, but recent transfer rumours indicating Dzeko could be open to a Manchester United move have got City supporters in uproar.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils could launch a controversial swoop for ex-City hero Dzeko, identifying a need to add experience to their forward line as a real incentive.
