Manchester City: Sky Blues blast Ferran Torres during 2-1 win over West Ham

During a crucial 2-1 victory for Manchester City over West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon, a win which takes the Sky Blues 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, many City fans pointed out an off the pace afternoon for Ferran Torres.

West Ham were organised and compact from the off, and it took a sumptuous Kevin De Bruyne cross for Ruben Dias to head home as City broke through their stubborn backline.

David Moyes’ men threatened back, with Michail Antonio hitting the post before scoring a tap-in soon after and getting West Ham back on level terms.

John Stones was on hand to rescue all three points for City midway through the second half, however, cementing an important victory.

Flocking to Twitter, many Sky Blues dropped their takes on Torres’ outing – who was favoured by manager Pep Guardiola ahead of the likes of Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva.

The Spaniard was taken off for Foden midway through the second half, with City supporters dropping their verdicts – find all of their opinions on the summer signing’s performance down below.

“Ferran Torres is a liability, didn’t progress at all since he arrived, he keep on making the same mistakes by trying to shine on his own. And some said that we brought better than Sane?”
