Manchester City star SEALS deal to remain at Etihad Stadium

lampard.jpgManchester City fans in Football Transfer Tavern are ecstatic after The Mirror revealed that Frank Lampard will stay at the club until at least March after an agreement was made with his parent club New York City FC.

Lampard’s current loan deal at the Etihad Stadium is set to expire in two weeks’ time but it looks almost certain that he will at least see out the entire 2014/15 season in Manchester.

The 36-year-old has been used sparingly but effectively by Manuel Pellegrini after scoring six goals in 11 games, having featured in the Premier League, Champions League and Capital One Cup.

Pellegrini is desperate to keep the veteran star in his ranks as he provides priceless experience in both the Champions League and the Premier League.

The Sky Blues co own New York City FC and they were quick to snap up Frank Lampard after Chelsea chose not to award him a new contract.

City then sneakily signed him up on loan from their MLS franchise and ever since Lampard has been very influential for the Citizens.

Lampard is also considered a great cover option for Yaya Toure as he is expected to leave with Ivory Coast for the African Cup of Nations in January.
