The 18-year-old, a major breakthrough star of the last few seasons in European football, is highly rated at the Camp Nou but there is currently some speculation surrounding his contract.

Indeed, the £54m-rated star and Barca are yet to agree on new terms despite him being handed Lionel Messi's previous shirt number at the club.

His representative, super-agent Jorge Mendes, is apparently trying to put pressure on the La Liga giants for a new and improved deal before Fati returns to the pitch. The Barca forward is still recovering from a serious knee injury, having not played since 2020.

El Nacional have now claimed that Mendes offered Man City the chance to sign Fati among the clubs he has 'contacted' to try and force the Catalan giants into accepting their demands
