Pep Guardiola, after guiding the Sky Blues to a Champions League final, Premier League title and Carabao Cup last season, set his sights on bringing a striker to Eastlands over the summer alongside club record signing Jack Grealish.

After months of haggling over Spurs striker Harry Kane, Guardiola and sporting director Txiki Begiristain contemplated alternative options like Dusan Vlahovic and Cristiano Ronaldo but with no follow through.

They were also linked with a swoop for Dortmund sensation Haaland as he marks himself out as, debatably, the world's most exciting forward.

Now, a fresh update has emerged on the Norway international's future - and it involves City yet again.

Indeed, after the Sky Blues failed to sign Kane in the summer, it appears they're now back in the picture to sign Haaland and they are seen as 'big players' in the transfer race alongside Paris-Saint Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

It is also said that the economic aspect of a deal for Haaland will have a 'lot of weight' as City become one of the big clubs 'advancing positions over a move, according to a report by AS (via Sport Witness).

Reacting to this update, it's safe to say many supporters are absolutely thrilled that the focus has finally turned to the hot shot 21-year-old.
