Italian sources have now shared interesting Man City transfer news involving Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez amid some exciting Erling Haaland rumours.
The Lowdown: Haaland edging closer?
The Norway sensation is now thought to be edging ever closer to an Etihad Stadium move as a plethora of reliable reports back that City are the overwhelming favourites.
Haaland, as per journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic, has given the green-light to join Pep Guardiola’s title-chasers after agreeing personal terms.
Meanwhile, Mike Keegan of The Daily Mail claims City’s pursuit of the prolific striker has taken a ‘significant step forward’, with the move likely to go through in the ‘next week’.
The Latest: Martinez wants Man City move…
As these major reports emerge, however, TUTTOmercatoWEB claim that Inter forward Martinez is still eyeing a move to the Sky Blues.
The Italian news source state the Argentine ‘wants a big’ move, preferably to a club with many titles and real winning pedigree, with Man City named as a preferred destination.
It is also claimed the Nerazzurri will let him go for around €80 million (£67m).
The Verdict: One to consider in future?
The 24-year-old has bagged 19 goals and three assists in all competitions this season under Simone Inzaghi and City supporters will be no stranger to the player.
However, with Haaland looking all but set to join City according to reliable sources, coupled with the imminent arrival of promising young attacker Julian Alvarez, we believe Martinez may well be one to consider in future at best – even despite Romelu Lukaku branding the player a ‘beast’.
