The Daily Star have a rather interesting claim for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they note that Patrice Evra has remained coy over his future at Manchester United.
As our punters note, it is hardly like the season is going well for the club, and David Moyes will have a massive job to keep his star players, let alone attract any new ones!
Given the rumours over the future of Robin van Persie are not exactly positive for the club, and skipper Nemanja Vidic has made it clear that he will be leaving for Serie A as well, we now think there could be another departure.
Patrice Evra has been linked with a move away from the club for some time now, and given United have been tracking a whole host of left backs, and not exactly quietly, we don’t blame Evra for wanting to leave.
He claimed: “My love will not change for the club.
“I love Manchester. When my love will be broken with Manchester, I will study the possibilities.
“I am only thinking about the present. In May I will be 33 years old. I really want to have fun at the next World Cup, enjoy every moment and give my all.”
One of our punters noted that we think he could well be set for one final pay day at former club Monaco, and we have to agree with that.
Is Evra destined for a career swansong back in Ligue 1 with former employers Monaco? Let us know your thoughts below.
