Manchester United and Chelsea fans simply cannot believe what they are reading here in the Football Transfer Tavern, with Italian publication Tutto Mercato Web claiming that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has ‘agreed in principle’ to join Manchester United at the end of the season.
This news has certainly got our regular punters talking here in the Tavern, with them all agreeing this would be one surprise move that would send shockwaves around world football!
Now, our landlord here in the Tavern is somewhat sceptical about this, and cannot envisage seeing Mourinho ditch Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford, and can’t imagine Louis van Gaal ditching his post at the Manchester club anytime soon! However, it might be worth using a cheeky free bet on the move to go ahead.
It is no secret that the Blues are seriously struggling in the Premier League this season, with the club currently in 16th place in the table – a stark contrast to last season.
A few Manchester United fans over by the pool table here in the Transfer Tavern have been deliberating this news, and feel that Mourinho doesn’t seem to be the manager he used to be, and feels United should stick with LVG!
