Manchester United want “radiant” French striker to complete new-look front three alongside Cunha and Mbeumo

After one of their worst-ever seasons, Manchester United are desperate for a reset.

The 2024/25 campaign ended in disaster: a record-low Premier League points total, a shocking 15th-place finish, and heartbreak in the Europa League final. But amid the gloom, there’s renewed hope.

Incoming manager Ruben Amorim is overseeing a complete overhaul of United’s attacking line—one of the club’s biggest weaknesses last season. With Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to find form, United’s lack of cutting edge was clear.

To fix that, the Red Devils have already moved decisively. Matheus Cunha has arrived from Wolves, bringing creativity, intensity, and Premier League experience. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is also joining after a breakout season where he scored 20 league goals.

Now, to complete the trio, Amorim is targeting one final piece: a dynamic France international who could transform United’s frontline.

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United are pursuing Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus.

The Frenchman impressed in Turin, scoring 10 goals in 22 games and reigniting the form that once made him one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards.

Juventus are eager to keep Kolo Muani and are working hard to convince him to make the move permanent. However, United’s interest has intensified, especially after missing out on Hugo Ekitike, who chose Liverpool instead.

Amorim reportedly sees Kolo Muani as the ideal player to complete his new-look attack. The recruitment team is said to admire his blend of pace, technical ability, and physical presence—qualities United sorely lacked last season.

PSG are willing to sell, but competition will be fierce. United’s financial power gives them a strong chance, should they choose to outbid Juventus.

France manager Didier Deschamps once described Kolo Muani as “radiant” and praised his unique profile: “He is confident, has presence in his runs, a good header, and is often successful with us.”

Exactly what United need.
