The Red Devils have been tracking the PSV Eindhoven player for some time now and not only are the men in power at Old Trafford interested in the player but new manager David Moyes has held a long-term admiration for the Netherlands international, having tried to lure him to Goodison Park on several occasions during his time at Everton. Now it seems that to get him in the red of United, action will be required and fast.
The midfielder has also been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham and a host of other clubs from abroad are considering a swoop for the player who feels that this summer is the time for a move and to spread his wings. The 23-year-old has plenty of time to develop and hone his craft and Old Trafford is the ideal place for the player to do that.
Despite winning a 20th title, the club are keen to make sure they do not rest on their laurels and are determined that success in Europe will be paramount next season.
