According to a report from German news outlet Kicker, Manchester United tried to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso in January, with many supporters bashing links to the ‘injury-prone‘ Bundesliga star.
Tolisso, who signed for Bayern in a £35m deal back in the summer of 2017 and since gone on to make 63 appearances for the club whilst racking up 14 goals and 10 assists (Transfermarkt), was reportedly attracting interest from United in January, according to Kicker.
The defensive midfielder has been somewhat out of favour for the club this season, having started just six games in the league (WhoScored), whilst also missing the majority of December action with a calf strain. Overall, Tolisso has missed 45 games through injury for Bayern since his move to the club, with some Red Devils supporters thankful that they didn’t end up signing the 25-year-old.
Perhaps the Frenchman could have been seen as much-needed midfield backup at the time due to the absences of Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba, but with the former making his return soon, the need for a new central midfield man has died down.
As a result, these supporters have slammed reported links with Tolisso – find all of their best comments down below.
