After Manchester United strolled to a comfortable 6-0 FA Cup victory at Prenton Park on Sunday, youngster Diogo Dalot has since tweeted about his happiness with scoring his first-ever goal for the club – prompting lots of supporters to applaud the defender for his finish.
Dalot, who blasted the ball past Scott Davies into the top corner from inside the penalty area for United’s second of the evening, also managed to accumulate three shots in total from the right wing-back position whilst earning a rating of 8.4 courtesy of WhoScored.com.
Indeed, the youngster appeared to impress on his outing in Merseyside, prompting supporters to praise the 20-year-old for his efforts. One fan even claimed that he could be the ‘next Ronaldo’ due to the velocity of his strike and the fact he heralds from the same country as the former Red Devils star, but given that his heroics came against a struggling League One outfit, that could perhaps remain to be seen.
The Portuguese, taking to Twitter after the match, stated: “Good performance and very happy to score my first goal for Man United”.
