According to a report from the Daily Mail, Manchester United have recorded a drop in second-quarter figures, with broadcast, matchday and overall revenues down from the first quarter – resulting in vice-chairman Ed Woodward coming out to ensure he will still back manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
This Daily Mail piece, coming out after United announced their second-quarter revenue figures at lunchtime this afternoon, relays that the Red Devils have recorded a drop in profit following their continued absence from the Champions League. Woodward, speaking out on the news, has pledged to back manager Solskjaer whilst continuing to have faith in his footballing vision.
As a result, many Red Devils fans have become divided over the update – taking to Twitter and voicing their diverse range of opinions. One supporter, pleading to ‘back the manager‘ despite this update, appears to represent the positive portion of fans who are willing to be patient. Meanwhile, others who suggest they are ‘finished‘ under Solskjaer have reacted very differently – voicing their frustrations on social media.
