It’s happy hour in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening and one of those joining in with the two for one offer is The Express journalist Charles Perrin.
Perrin explains that he has just finished a tough shift at the office and has news for the Manchester United supporters in the bar about a potential transfer target.
He suggests that the Red Devils will face an uphill battle trying to sign Inter Milan’s Fredy Guarin this summer.
The Colombian midfielder came very close to signing for Juventus as part of a swap deal involving Mirko Vucinic in January but he proposed deal collapsed in the latter stages.
In recent days, speculation has been building in the tavern that Guarin, who is under contract at the San Siro until 2016, could be part of David Moyes’ proposed rebuilding plans.
Despite landing Juan Mata in a £37.5 million deal, under pressure Moyes is expected to be given a transfer budget worth over £100 million from the Glazers
Considering Inter were willing to leave him in January, Perrin’s suggestions that Inter are planning to offer him a bumper contract in the summer comes as a surprise to punters in the bar.
Do you think United will be able to defy the odds to land the attacking midfielder? Let us know your thoughts below.
