Manchester United: Plenty of fans call for Solskjaer to leave after Liverpool defeat

Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool could have been much worse after the first half saw the ball hit David de Gea’s net three times, with two of those goals ruled out. They battled back into the game and went for it in the final 15 minutes, but many fans didn’t have any sympathy for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the game.

The online noise of ‘Ole Out’ grew louder after Mohamed Salah crushed the hopes of United fans in the 93rd minute. According to the BBC, the Red Devils had 47 per cent of possession but only managed to covert that into nine shots compared to Liverpool’s 16. On another day, Liverpool could have scored a hat-full, but on a different one, United could have nicked a point.

Many fans with their heart set on Solskjaer being removed from the club couldn’t see that, though. When United’s Twitter account posted the news that Salah had scored to put the game to bed, some fans rushed into the replies to call for the manager to leave.
