Manchester United: Some fans are desperate for Bruno Fernandes to sign

Manchester United’s 4-0 victory over Norwich on Saturday will have given fans something to shout about after the dire performance in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Manchester City. However, on Twitter, many fans were more concerned about their January transfer dealings than discussing the game.

Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha (via Sport Witness) claimed Bruno Fernandes is due in Manchester in the next few days after ‘significant progress’ was made in negotiating his move from Sporting Lisbon. Indeed, the Daily Mirror then added that a bid could be submitted in the next few days in the region of £65 million.

The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and made seven assists from 15 appearances in the league this season, and that follows on from last term’s tally of 20 goals and 13 assists in 33 games. Given some of the problems the Red Devils have suffered from midfield this season (none of their current options have scored more than 3 goals), it could be a move to introduce more firepower into the ranks.
