It’s been many seasons since the Ashley Young appeared to come into contact with something falling from the sky during a game at Old Trafford, though these Man United fans agree with the winger that all may not be what it seems.
Manchester United hosted Swansea back in the 2014/15 season, with Louis van Gaal’s reign as Red Devils boss starting poorly with a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford – but unfortunately for Young in particular, that isn’t solely what grabbed headlines.
Upon watching a replay, some supporters realised that the Englishman may have accidentally encountered bird droppings during the encounter – prompting the incident to go viral and become the subject of many jokes online.
However, speaking candidly to the Utd Podcast via TalkSPORT about the incident, Young has since explained how it actually flew behind him rather than into his mouth – with the cameras that day playing an optical illusion.
Supporters analysing the clip on Twitter now think he is perhaps correct.
Here’s how they came to a conclusion on social media:
Goes behind him, watch closely.

It is definitely landing behind him. If it is landed in his mouth, he would have reacted for sure but young dint even flinch for a sec. Simple logic
