According to a piece from the Telegraph, Manchester United could be set to overhaul a huge portion of their squad next year, with the likes of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic, Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes all set for the exit door next summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table, 24 points behind bitter rivals and league leaders Liverpool, with a potential need to offload deadwood being prioritised for the summer in preparation for a title challenge next campaign.
Jones and Young, in particular, are the longest-serving players to be potentially released in six months time, with both men playing under Sir Alex Ferguson during his last season at the club, and during their most recent Premier League title clinch in 2012/2013.
However, despite being good servants to the club, along with these fellow names, it is likely according to this report that they could leave Old Trafford very soon.
Here’s how fans responded with glee on Twitter.
I’ll get the bags ready.

Finally. That clearout was long overdue. The crucial thing will be replacing them with proper players, especially signing another midfielder with Matic leaving. pic.twitter.com/Sf9qTFQ46i

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer getting rid of the deadwood one by one. Shame Gomes and Chong are leaving but happy about the players who are way past their best are going.
