Manchester United fans were left feeling excited after youngster Ethan Laird among the youth team players being considered for promotion to the senior squad.
According to a report by the Manchester Evening News, the player is one of three youngsters who the club are contemplating in promoting to the first-team due to a shortage of players. While Laird could well be a replacement for Ashley Young, Largie Ramazani is also in the frame for a move up due to the limited options in attack following Marcus Rashford’s injury.
Youth team players have been afforded more and more opportunities this season with the likes of Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong, James Garner and Mason Greenwood all having made Premier League appearances (via WhoScored). The Bradford-born ace has made quite the impact, scoring nine times in 28 appearances across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).
