After Manchester City demolished Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates on Sunday, courtesy of a Kevin De Bruyne masterclass, some Manchester United fans have held their hands up and applauded the rival man following a ‘genius’ all-round display.
The Belgian netted two stunning finishes and assisted Raheem Sterling in a performance that has clearly even impressed some rival supporters, especially since Manchester United seem to be desperate for a quality attacking midfielder of their own to bolster their squad.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have also had to make do without Paul Pogba’s creative influence in the centre of the park amid speculation that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford in the near future.
As a result, flocks of United fans couldn’t help but hail the genius of a rival’s playmaker – perhaps wishing they had a similar maestro to help drive their chase for a top-four finish.
