According to a report from the Times via talkSPORT, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is of the belief that he needs ‘six signings over the next two windows’ in order to restore the club as a major force in the Premier League – with supporters blasting the comments as ‘delusional’ in reply to the Red Devils legend.
United have been linked with an array of stars over the course of this transfer window already, with the likes Donny van de Beek and Gareth Bale being mentioned recently as rumoured targets. However, according to Solskjaer as per this report, it could be a long time before the club are back at the summit of English football – with the manager apparently needing at least six signings to restore their former glory. Obviously, the Red Devils have been without a league title for seven years, last reigning victorious at the end of the 2012/2013 season.
In response to the comments, United supporters have slammed the verdict, mainly holding no hope over Solskjaer and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward’s abilities to pull of such a transfer overhaul. Here’s what supporters said on Twitter.
