According to a report from Portuguese outlet A Bola via Sport Witness, Manchester United are willing to ‘increase the amount payable in variables’ in pursuit of midfield star Bruno Fernandes – hinting that they are willing to offer more add-ons – but these Red Devils supporters have blasted the supposed business.
Fernandes, who has an impressive 15 goals and 13 assists in all competitions this season for Sporting Lisbon (as per Transfermarkt), is currently at the centre of an on-going transfer saga with Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men attempt to land a prolific attacking midfield player (Sky Sports).
Compared to current midfield man Jesse Lingard, Fernandes has eclipsed the Englishman in almost every aspect – totalling 3.4 shots per game and 3.6 passes per game whilst also bagging eight goals and seven assists in the league, as per WhoScored.com. While Lingard may possess the superior pass completion rate (87%), there is little argument that the Portuguese playmaker could potentially be a huge upgrade given his clear ability in front of goal resulting in his impressive tally this term.
As a result, these Red Devils fans have slammed the latest update on their so-far fruitless pursuit – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Sporting aren’t stupid Woodward. We ain’t the champions league the league anytime soon.
