Manchester United: Fans laud diamond formation v Arsenal

Many Manchester United fans have been lauding a tactical change for their game versus Arsenal as it looks like they will line up in a diamond formation.

As per the official Twitter page of the Red Devils, it seems as if Scott McTominay, Fred, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes will operate in a diamond midfield together.

They will play behind Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford who will play as a front two, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw making up the defence, with David De Gea starting in between the posts.

Dean Henderson, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Juan Mata, Nermanja Matic, Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani make up the bench for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

Indeed, this is could well be a change of system from the 4-2-3-1 that was played against Chelsea in the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford in their last match in the Premier League.
