Manchester United fans are less than hopeful that Paul Pogba will sign a contract extension at the club after reports from The Times.
According to the British newspaper, the Old Trafford side have opened preliminary talks with representatives of the French midfielder.
The 26-year-old France international is into the final two years of his deal at the north-west club, though the Red Devils have the option of extending it by a further year if they wish to do so.
Pogba has missed the last three games for the club with an ankle injury as the club went on to record two wins, against Astana and Leicester City, and one loss to West Ham United (via Transfermarkt).
The central midfielder was the centre of a transfer pursuit from Real Madrid and Juventus in the summer. Both clubs registered an interest in signing the player with the Spanish giants even submitting a bid (via The Telegraph).
Despite the news surrounding a potential contract extension, fans aren’t too hopeful as they took to Twitter to react.
