Manchester United’s emphatic victory against Tranmere on Sunday gave their fans a reason to celebrate ahead of the Manchester Derby on Wednesday. Even Jesse Lingard managed to get on the scoresheet and the reaction was typically tongue in cheek on Twitter.
The 27-year-old curled a shot into the right of the net from just inside the box to make it 3-0 with just 15 minutes played. He’s really struggled of late, recording a 6.28/10 rating on WhoScored for his nine starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, suggesting he needs to up his game if he’s to establish himself in the side.
The club’s official Twitter account posted the news that he’d scored on their page, and fans were quick to give the club their thoughts in a very sarcastic manner to say the least.
