Back in April, the Telegraph reported that Manchester United would undergo a major overhaul this summer and, through the additions of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James, it does indeed appear to be the case.
Through the aforementioned signings, Ed Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have obviously been prioritising the recruitment of young players, a strategy previously talked up by former captain and record goalscorer Wayne Rooney when talking to ESPN last month.
To that end, they could be set to make Sean Longstaff their 3rd summer signing in the coming weeks.

The rumours of Longstaff have come from The Daily Mail, who have reported that Man United will lodge an opening bid of around £15m plus add-ons.
Compared by Louise Taylor of the Guardian to Old Trafford hero Michael Carrick back in February and a young, English midfielder boasting an 80.9% passing accuracy across his fifteen games last season, it’s fair to say the 21-year-old has made waves in the Premier League despite his lack of experience.
Praised by pundits such as Gary Lineker (on Twitter) and Paul Merson (speaking on Sky via HITC) in February, he also formed part of a midfield that Pep Guardiola admitted (as per the Chronicle) his Manchester City side ‘couldn’t deal’ with after their loss on Tyneside in January.
With Paul Pogba’s future uncertain after his comments about potentially needing a new challenge last month (per BBC Sport) it does seem as if the club are ramping their attempts to reinforce their midfield, especially considering the departure of Ander Herrera upon the expiration of his contract.
