Speaking to Sky Sports via the Metro, former Manchester City defender Micah Richards claimed that, if Marcus Rashford was a Sky Blues player, he would score ’30-40 goals’ – with these Manchester United supporters wholeheartedly agreeing with the pundit after his claims.
Richards was part of the Sky coverage team which oversaw United’s 3-1 Carabao Cup humbling at the hands of their bitter rivals, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side 3-0 down at half time and looking all but out of the two-legged semi-final clash at one stage.
Despite Rashford grabbing a goal back in the second half to ease the aggregate scoreline, United look like they have a mountain to climb at the Etihad Stadium – needing to win by at least three goals in order to reach the final at Wembley.
The former City cult hero was candid in his assessment of Rashford, admitting that he ‘feels sorry’ for the Englishman due to his lack of service. As per the Premier League’s official website, City have fashioned 61 ‘big chances’ so far this season, while their neighbours have created just 31. Indeed, considering his 44% shot accuracy this season, perhaps the idea of him adding to his tally should he play for the league champions is reasonable.
As a result, some Red Devils supporters have praised Richards for his opinion, here’s what they had to say.
Bro if rashford, martial, greenwood, gomes was at City they would rival the class of 99..
